Happy Pride!!

image

Late photo phriday picture but tonight we, including our daughter, marched in the RI Pride parade with our work, Lifespan health care system. This bike was all decorated with colorful lights and rainbow flags. She did a great job in the parade and is always a hit!

Dogs

Have you ever seen the movie “Up”. Well, there is a portion of the movie where someone invents this contraption that makes a dog talk and you can hear what the dog is thinking.  Well, it seems very appropriate to what I think of dogs and how they are very destractable. “Squirrel”

Anyway, my point is this… our dog B is learning to go in and out of the house to the backyard gate without a leash.  Most of the time, we find that he wants to please us and goes right from the gate, up the two stairs to the porch and door.  The other day though, he got distracted by something, whether it was a cat or a squirrel, I’m not sure. What I do know is that he thinks that all people and animals should love him and always want to play with him.  That isn’t always the case. Our cat, P, goes outside and B and P at times will wrestle.

When B got distracted, it was pitch black night out, nearly 10pm and he took off across the street and into the woods.  We only know a small portion of the woods as we put our lawn clippings and leaves in the woods but that is about it. We do know there is somewhat of a “sand pit” in there that the kids go dirt biking on.

D called into the house when this happened to get some assistance because he was not coming back when she called to him. A went out and the two of them went into the woods. Well, A saw there was something going on and she was supposed to be in bed but there was going to be none of that while the dog was loose.  I tried to tell her not to come near the woods but that was not happening either. I took her with me to look up the street to see if B wandered up there, along the way, we used my flashlight on my phone to look along the woods, but we didn’t see anything at all.  We could still hear the faint yelling by D and A as we were walking up the street.

After we got to the end of the street, we thought that was about as much as we could do.  We walked all the way back to the house, what do you think we found when we go to the driveway?  Yup, B, just hanging out and he came running to us happy as ever like he was thinking “Where have you been?”

I called D and A to come out of the woods and come back because our prodigal dog had returned!  There was no fatted calf for this dog, that is for sure!

Weekly Photo Challenge – Today

Today- I woke up later than planned. Today- the sounds of soft rain welcomed me up. Today- D is still sound asleep and A is in front of the TV. It looks like a dreary day but we are going to fill it up with fun and laughter.

Hope and future

This scripture saying has been coming in front of my face in many ways today. I’m not really religious but maybe there is something to this…
